Module 1- Injury prevention and management in yoga
We will look at the many ways in which badly taught and misunderstood yogic practice can injure the body over time.
Understanding these issues we will learn to teach in a way that honors and invites well-being in our physical structure and therefore minds. Happy cells equates to a happy body, a happy mind and heart.
To enable this depth of practiced and teaching we will experientially and theoretically study the relationships between muscles, myo-fascia, ligaments, tendons, bones and joints. We will explore how these structures respond differently to gravity and how this affects practice, well-being and ageing.
How to manage injuries in a #yoga class.
When someone comes to your class with a physical problem how can you include them in class. You will learn a clear strategy, rooted in traditional yogic philosophy, to enable inclusion.

Module 2 - Healing through movement
You will learn the principles of wise-movement and wise-attention to enable a return to balance of the body and mind.
Wise-movement as a healing modality requires the development of greater interoception (inward body feeling) and includes therapeutic stretching, mindful strength, energetics of asana as strategies to facilitate healing.
These principles can be related to all physical injuries and this will give you the tools to work more therapeutically with your clients.
You are the placebo. We will look at the principles of placebo and nocebo and how these directly affect #wellbeing. This then leads to how we direct our minds, what we choose to focus on and the nature of belief and faith from a yogic perspective.
This module is a powerful approach to personal, collective and systemic healing.
