The Beginners's Course will begin in September 2020

Beginners Yoga
The class introduces the basic yoga postures (asanas). A focus on alignment principles, breathing practices (pranayama) and theory help to build strength, flexibility and knowledge resulting in a solid yoga practice. The classes are designed around an 8 week course which repeats every 2 months running throughout the year.
The following classes are not offered at the Centre at the moment

Sivanada Yoga
Sivananda is a traditional, slow paced, meditative class that helps encourage proper breathing, flexibility, strength and vitality in the body while calming the mind. The asanas follow an exact order that allows for the systematic movement of every major part of the body in a balanced way that enhances prana or life force energy, keeping the mind quiet and without the need to think beyond each individual pose or breath.

Childrens’ Yoga
Suitable for Children aged five and over. In a fun and playful way children learn to listen to their bodies, and how to release tension and relax their muscles. Children learn how to use yoga in their daily lives, helping them stay calm, focused and be able to deal with stress and emotions.

* Develop their bodies gracefully
* Learn to find peace within themselves and discipline
* Increase their focus and imagination
* improve memory and performance
* Learn to breathe deeply, so gain more oxygen to the blood and brain cells.
* Sleep better

Power Yoga
Power Yoga is a dynamic, flowing yoga style following specific sequences of asanas in rythmn with a yogic breathing technique called ujjayi. It is gr, an offshoot of Ashtanga yoga, it shares the same benefits, including building internal heat, increased stamina, strength and flexibility as well as stress reduction.

Iyengar Inspired Yoga - currently not on the schedule
We are running Iyengar Inspired Classes every Friday evening at 18:30 that support the hatha yoga open class. Key alignment principles and props are being used. This class follows the Open class monthly themes and replaces the monthly alignment workshops.The hatha open classes run twice a day during the week and at weekends.

Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a fantastic gentle form of exercise which helps to prevent illness and ageing. It is often described as “meditation in motion”, but it might well be called “medication in motion”.
The style of Tai Chi that Bonnie teaches is the 24 simplified form, based mostly on the Yang school of Tai Chi, but incorporating other schools, leading to a practice ideal for beginners.

Chakra Asana Yoga
This class follows a sequence of asanas (postures) that connect directly with the main energy centres of the body. This works on the spiritual level and is a level 3 class.

Kaivalya - Great Freedom
Combining yoga, breathing and meditation in the most effective way to obtain freedom from the tumoils of the modern world. You will be focused, calm, centred and able to reach your goals.

Yogalates
A class that combines Yoga and Pilates in an innovative way. This helps improve core strength, stability, posture, balance and flexibility. It is said to harness the physical and mental benefits of both practices.

Mindful Running Club - currently not on the schedule
Come and learn how to run safely. Running with correct form requires mindfulness, which is essential to develop the body correctly, improve posture, stamina and prevent injuries. Come and learn how to associate consciousness to body movement so that you can enjoy the freedom of experience of running.
