You are now nearly half way through the year and therefore halfway through the Open Class themes, tell us how you think its going.
Like with anything so new and may I say revolutionary, it takes time for people to get used to it and understand what it is trying to achieve, how it works etc...
This is also something new for me. Having said that I am very happy to have started it. We are seeing the results not just on a physical level but also on a mental level as well.
We are now in March and the theme is twisting, this is great for detoxing, energizing and activating the Manipura chakra that increases our drive and ambition.
We are able to see the results because the theme runs for one month and i think it takes that long to be able to observe the more subtle aspects of the practise.
What do you think can be improved?
As I mentioned earlier, its a bit complicated and the Open Classes are meant to work together with the Alignment Workshops, however these were late in starting. I think next year they will be scheduled to fit in better with the workshops. The Open Class is based on defined alignment principles.
To compensate for this last year the first two themes, standing and hip opening, a strong focus was given to alignment and extensive use of props.
In a nutsell, what are you most happy about?
The themes allows the teacher to focus on a specific area that allows the students to go more deeply and open up the body/mind and explore themselves. It gives the Centre a direction and focus.

Overall very happy with the changes! Especially felt the fantastic benefits of the twisting asanas. Inversions are a bit more challenging for me which is a good thing.
